Did 'ya get the license plate number?

Fans watching this year's training camp will have a much better clue of the identity of what's-his-name-from-Wilkes-Barre-that-might-make-the-team.
Don't know if Mr. Shero or Mr. Heinze should accept the credit, but for the first time ever the players have their NAMES and numbers on their practice jersey! And it looks like they'll have their actual numbers, not the 1 through 18 for skaters.
It helps fans identify the player easier, and it will quickly help personify the fringe players.
Speaking of names on the back of a jersey... I hated it when the NHL removed the referee's last name from the back of their jerseys.
"Hey, number 2, you suck!" has almost no impact compared to "Hey, Fraser, you suck!"
This year we won't even be able to identify him by his bouffant hairdo. The NHL has mandated that all officials - Fraser included - to wear helmets this year.
